Grade R Pupil Missing After Attending First Day At School: Verulam – KZN
A five-year-old Grade R pupil, Emihle Mavundla, has been reported missing after she failed to arrive home from school on her first day of schooling at Verulam Primary School in Verulam – KZN (Wednesday).
The child’s mother waited at the drop-off point near her residence in Mhlasini – KZN, for the scholar transport to return her daughter home. When the transport arrived, Emihle was not inside the vehicle.
The driver of the scholar transport indicated that he did not pick up the child. The mother then contacted the owner of the transport service, and together they went to Verulam Primary School on Russom Street to search for the minor. However, Emihle could not be located on the school premises.
It is suspected that, due to it being her first day of school, the child may have boarded the wrong scholar transport after school.
At the time of her disappearance, Emihle was wearing her Verulam Primary School uniform. She is described as having a dark complexion, big black eyes, and a chubby build.
Members of the public who may have seen the child or have any information regarding her whereabouts are urged to contact Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) on 086 1234 333.
