While we prepare gift cards, gift vouchers or Christmas cards, some are very busy with preparing serious documents like visas and permits to go overseas.A group of young stars has put themselves in a spotlight international for taking 1st place in a 48 Hour Film Project held in Suncoast Cine Centre in KZN Durban for premiere. The Short Film SIRED played by Zazi Kunene, Minnie Dlamini, Elihle Mfenqa and Fezeka Mthembu scooped the 1st place on Best Short Film and walked away with three more awards of Best Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Director. This is the hard works of Mthokozisi Zulu, Zane Colquhoun, Garth Strydom and Mela Mtimande.This exciting news comes after a task by 48 Hour Project, where by filmmakers, ranging from primary and high school learners to professional production houses, put together their artistic minds and make a short film of about five to seven minutes long in just 48 hours. This challenge is annual, done globally and take place in more than 100 cities throughout the year. Over a weekend in October film enthusiasts in KwaZulu-Natal had 48 hours to make a five to seven minute long film.The crew of SIRED short Film is having a trip ahead of going to Lisbon to compete with other 132 filmmakers from all over the world.One of the well-known actress in the Mzansi and abroad, Miss Minenhle Dlamini, could not help herself, but celebrate the mile stone of SIRED.“WINNING.
