The Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli, today attended the court appearance of three suspects allegedly linked to the brutal murder of seven members of the Monswamy family, demonstrating the Provincial Government’s unwavering commitment to justice and support for victims of violent crime.The accused appeared before the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court following their recent arrest in connection with the crime, which has deeply shaken communities across the province and the nation. Premier Ntuli’s presence at the proceedings was a deliberate act of solidarity with the grieving family and a clear signal that government stands firmly with communities in their demand for justice and accountability.As the Executive Authority for the Department of Community Safety and Liaison, Premier Ntuli confirmed that the Department has prepared an affidavit opposing bail. In addition, the Department is mobilising community support through the collection of public signatures to strengthen the case for keeping the accused in custody while the judicial process unfolds.“Today, I stood with the Monswamy family not only as Premier, but as a fellow citizen who believes that every life matters and that justice must prevail. The pain and trauma experienced by this family have touched the heart of our province, and we will not rest until the full force of the law has been applied,” said Premier Ntuli.“I have full confidence in our justice system to deal decisively with this matter. Crimes of this nature strike at the very foundation of our society. They threaten the sense of safety that every family deserves, and they demand a firm, united response from all of us. We must send a clear message that violence and lawlessness will never be tolerated in KwaZulu-Natal,” the Premier emphasised.Premier Ntuli further reaffirmed the Provincial Government’s commitment to working closely with law enforcement agencies, prosecuting authorities, community leaders, and citizens to strengthen safety and security across the province.“Our responsibility as government is to protect our people and to ensure that communities live in safety, dignity, and peace. We will continue to intensify our efforts to combat violent crime, support victims, and build safer communities through partnership and decisive action.
