Kasi2Kasi ARTS SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

When you think about the most important subject for children to learn what comes to mind of most parents or teachers, their brains probably immediately goes to the cornerstone academics such as math, science or even history, subjects like art, (music and drama) probably comes last.

Research has shown that arts programmes can significantly improve cognitive abilities.
The importance of art education cannot be understated as it fosters critical thinking, language skills and emotional expression.

The creativity often spills over into other academic subjects hence learners who are exposed to arts education often show improved performance in non-arts subjects because innovative thinking is being promoted.

Through arts, learners learn to express and interpret emotions, leading to heightened emotional intelligence helping them understand themselves and others better.
Arts encourages cultural awareness it introduces us to different cultures, histories and societal values.

This fosters a sence of respect and appreciation for diverse perspective.
Art improves motor skills and reduces disciplinary infractions because engaging in art can lead to better behavior, learners who are involved in arts programmes often show fewer disciplinary issues as they learn patience, discipline and teamwork.

While not everyone will pursue a career in arts, the skills acquired, such as creativity, problem – solving, perseverance and communication are valuable in many professions.
